In development, built alongside a working door-to-door team

Everything behind the knock.

Cairn is software for building and running door-to-door sales organizations. It’s built to bring recruiting, training, practice, field readiness, operations, pay and team communication together in one system, so the work stops living in a stack of spreadsheets and group texts.

Cairn: a stack of stones that marks the way on a trail.

Team messaging that runs alongside every step: groups, direct messages and replies.

Shared records

One backend for people, teams, sales and pay, so a rep is the same record at every step. Built and tested; the products are moving onto it one at a time.

The work

The selling usually works. The system behind it doesn't.

Running a door-to-door organization means running a recruiting desk, a school, a training floor, an operations office and payroll at once, for a team that's in a different neighborhood every day. Most owners hold it together with spreadsheets, group texts and memory.

  • Applicants slip between texts

Candidates live in a recruiter's phone, a web form and a spreadsheet. Nobody can see who's booked, who went quiet, or who's waiting on a follow-up.

  • Reps start before they're ready

Paperwork, devices, training and sign-offs are tracked in different places, so a missing requirement turns up on the first day in the field.

  • Practice happens off the record

Managers can't tell who has rehearsed the hard objections before a new rep is standing in front of a homeowner.

  • The team talks everywhere

Updates are scattered across group texts and DMs, and none of it connects back to the person or the work it's about.

  • Pay is hard to explain

Rep pay, leader overrides, partnership splits and chargebacks get reconciled by hand. When a check looks wrong and nobody can show the math, it costs a week of trust and sometimes a top closer.

These are system problems, and they get heavier with every rep you add.

Who it's for

Built for the people who run the team.

Cairn is for owners of door-to-door organizations and everyone who keeps one moving, from the office to the rep on their first week.

Owners

See the whole organization

Who's coming in, who's ready, what sold this week, and what everyone is owed, without asking three people for three exports.

Leaders and managers

Know who needs help

See your downline's readiness and numbers before the week starts, and answer pay questions with the record in front of you.

Office and operations

Keep the back office straight

Onboarding requirements, start dates, expenses, reimbursements and pay periods in one place instead of stitched together on Sunday night.

Reps

Building toward one login

Training, practice, your sales, your pay and your team's conversations under one sign-in, where you can check them yourself.

For fiber internet, solar, pest control, home security, and other teams that sell door to door.

The products

Six products for one organization.

Each product handles one part of the job. Here's what each one does today and what comes next.

Today Next
  • RecruitEvery candidate, from first conversation to first day.

    Working prototype

A daily queue showing each candidate's next action, starting with expiring offers and candidates overdue for follow-up, plus candidates by stage, shadowing bookings, a hiring plan and reports.

    Next

Running on the shared backend, where hiring records are now built and tested, so a hire becomes a rep without anyone typing them in twice.

  • UniversityOnboarding and training that ends in a sign-off.

    Early preview

Courses and a step-by-step onboarding curriculum.

    Next

Completed training counts toward a rep's field readiness automatically.

  • PracticeRehearse the conversation before the door.

    Working prototype

Pick a homeowner type, a difficulty and a goal, work through a scripted conversation, then get a session review built from your transcript with scripted checks: what you did well, one correction, a better line to try and the next drill.

    Next

A live AI homeowner you can talk to out loud. A voice pilot is built: push-to-talk with Dana, a typed fallback, and a coaching review that quotes what you said. It has been tested with stand-ins only, not yet live.

  • OperationsReadiness, blitzes, expenses and pay records.

    Local demo

An owner overview of sales, installs, commissions, profit and rep readiness, with alerts for blocked reps and pending reimbursements. Blitz pages track dates, roster and attendance, shared costs and per-rep costs. Onboarding, travel, expenses, finance and reports round it out, and a redesigned overview with light and dark themes is in mockup. Cairn records financial events; it doesn't move money.

    Next

Running on the shared backend, which now has onboarding, readiness, travel, expenses and pay built and tested. A commission engine is planned: your pay plan, your rules, with pay on funded deals, provider imports and pay runs a person approves. Payroll and bank connections come later.

  • DashboardThe numbers a team checks every morning.

    Early preview

Leaderboards and goals. The sales intake and live leaderboard totals behind it are built and tested in the backend.

    Next

A phone-friendly form for reps to log a sale, with the board updating as sales come in.

  • RelayTeam messaging, built for the team.

    Working app

Team groups, private direct messages, quoted replies, reactions, unread tracking and saved history, with manager teams and groups people can create themselves.

    Next

Hosted, on Cairn sign-in, as the first product a real team uses every day. Team announcements are next; a preview with sample posts exists today.

From the current builds

From local builds and design mockups, Oct 14 to Oct 21. Names and figures are demo data.

Redesigned Cairn Operations overview, labeled demo: tiles for sales this month, approved installs, commissions, net profit, rep readiness and new reps onboarded, a 12-week sales and commissions chart, and alerts for two blocked reps, three reps waiting on an ISP form and one pending reimbursement.
Operations, overview redesign (mockup, Oct 21). The day's numbers up top, with what needs attention on the right.
Cairn Recruit Today screen: 13 candidates need attention, 14 awaiting a response, and a list of next actions such as offers expiring and candidates with no response in a week.
Recruit, Today. Every candidate's next step in one list, starting with offers about to expire.
Cairn Practice session review for a price-skeptic homeowner at level two, listing what the rep did well, a correction, a quote from the rep's response and a better line to try.
Practice, session review. Feedback quotes the rep's own lines from the transcript. The checks are scripted; live AI coaching isn't connected yet.
Relay General group: a manager confirms who will meet new reps before Thursday's field start, a rep asks for a form to be signed, and a sample sales snapshot card is shared.
Relay, team group. Getting new reps cleared before Thursday's field start.

Try Practice

An interactive demo of the voice pilot's screens. No microphone and no AI: Dana's replies and the review are scripted.

How it connects

One record that follows the rep.

Underneath the products sits one shared model of how a door-to-door organization actually works: people, positions and tiers, the leader tree, partnerships, teams, sales, and pay rules with start dates. It's designed so one record follows a person from candidate through training, field readiness, sales and pay. People, hiring, onboarding and readiness, sales, pay, travel and expenses, and team chat are built and tested in it. Connecting the apps comes next, starting with a written plan for Recruit; until then, each product keeps its own data.

  • Your pay plan, your rules

Each organization sets its own rep pay, leader overrides and partnership splits. Every pay line from a sale traces back to that sale, the pay rule in force that day, and the leader chain as it stood on the sale date.

  • Corrections preserve the history

Pay lines are never edited. A correction or chargeback adds lines that reverse the old ones, so the record shows what happened and when.

  • Each person sees their own

Reps see their own pay, leaders see their current downline's, and every view of pay is logged.

  • Changes don't rewrite past pay

Pay rules have start dates, and a rule that has been used can only be ended. Promotions, rule changes and renames leave pay already earned as it was. People are archived, never deleted.

Pay lines from one sale, in part

Illustrative excerpt, fictional numbers

Kai sells Fiber 1 Gig on Aug 5. The provider pays the org $300.00 for it. When the sale is verified, Cairn writes a pay line for each person owed. Some of them:

LineWhoAmount
Rep payKai, RepRep pay$100.00
OverrideJordan, ManagerOverride$30.00
OverrideFrankie, RegionalOverride$15.00
OverrideElliot, DivisionalOverride$9.00
Override, splitCasey and Dana, PartnersOverride, split$6.00 each
OverrideBlake, OwnerOverride$6.00

The lines shown total $172.00. Recruiting credit and the levels above the owner are left out, so this isn't the full payout or what the org keeps. Each override is the difference between a leader's rate and the rate below them. If the sale is charged back, every line gets a matching reversal instead of disappearing.

Nearly 700 automated database tests and 57 live checks (sign-in, leaderboards, chat, onboarding and expenses) pass against the backend. It isn't hosted yet.

Where it stands, Oct 2026

Early, and clear about it.

Some of Cairn works today as prototypes and local builds, some is being built now, and some is further out.

There's no pricing yet, and we aren't selling seats. Right now we're talking with owners and leaders about how their organizations run and where it breaks.

Why we're building it

Door-to-door teams have never been short on effort. What they're short on is a system that keeps up with them: one that knows who's ready, shows how pay was worked out, and keeps the team talking in one place.

Cairn is being built alongside a working door-to-door team that will be its first user, so each product gets judged by whether it holds up in a real week.
